A New Forest Equine Photoshoot

The New Forest is a fantastic place to explore with ample places for epic and beautiful photoshoots. On the day of Charlotte’s and her horse Ollie’s photoshoot it was super sunny and very bright which did bring a lot of wonderful speckles of light through the trees. Charlotte had chosen a beautiful floral blue dress perfect for the photoshoot finishing it off with a pair of Fairfax & Favour boots and it was just perfect.

Capturing an equine photoshoot in the New Forest offers a unique blend of natural beauty and equestrian elegance. The diverse landscapes, characterised by ancient woodlands, heathlands, and open pastures, provide a stunning backdrop for images that highlight the spirit and grace of horses.

During the session, my main focus was on capturing both close-up portraits and wider shots. The close-ups can highlight the horse's features as well as the connection between horse and owner, while the wider shots can depict the relationship between horse and handler within the enchanting landscape. The inclusion of elements like the characteristic heathland or ancient trees can add depth to the images.

I also love that walking shot, as these kind of images can convey energy and vitality, bringing life to the final collection. Being in the New Forest there certainly is no shortage of places to go and there are plenty of logs to make use of as props.
